I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW, LICSW) in both Virginia and the District of Columbia. I received my Bachelors in Sociology from Virginia Tech in 1997, my Masters in Social Work from The University of Pennsylvania in 1999, and a Post-Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Virginia Tech in 2004.
I grew up always wanting to help people, and at first was studying to become a pediatrician. However after several classes in Sociology and Psychology at Virginia Tech, and talking to other LCSWs, I realized my true calling was to provide mental health support to children, adolescents, adults and couples.
I began my career path in May 1999 after graduation from The University of Pennsylvania working with children with Autism and their families at The Center for Autistic Children in Philadelphia, PA. I then did home-based counseling with Family and Youth Outreach Services in Fairfax County from 2001 - 2003. In 2004 I became an Adoption/ Foster Care Worker with Arlington County, VA. I provided services for Adoption Home studies with United Methodist Services from 2009 - 2011. I went into private practice in 2011 with the Center for Life Strategies, as I felt I could provide individual support to clients to help them reach their potential and make new life decisions. I spent four years with the Center for Life Strategies before opening up my own practice in May 2015 in Vienna, VA.
I am a dog mom to a young Boston Terrier named Jethro. You may see him during our sessions. I love photography (pictures on my website are taken by me), cooking and anything outdoors
